Day 1 Mexico City

Welcome to Mexico! Transfer to the hotel and free time. Our guide will contact you late in the afternoon.

Day 2 Mexico City

Today, we’ll explore the remarkable site of TEOTIHUACAN (entrance included), located just 40 km from the capital. After breakfast, we’ll begin our journey at the Plaza of the Three Cultures, where past and present merge seamlessly. From there, we’ll continue to the impressive archaeological site of Teotihuacan, where we’ll visit the monumental Pyramids of the Sun and Moon, the Temple of Quetzalpapalotl, the Citadel, and the Avenue of the Dead. We’ll also stop by a local artisan center. On our way back to the city, we’ll visit the Basilica of Our Lady of Guadalupe, the patroness of Latin America. After returning to the hotel, the rest of the day will be free.

Day 3 Sumidero Canyon & Mexico City & San Cristóbal de las Casas & Tuxtla Gutiérrez

We’ll provide a transfer to the airport for your included flight to Tuxtla Gutiérrez. We should get there in just under two hours. Upon arrival, a guide will be waiting to take us to Sumidero Canyon, where we’ll embark on a boat ride of just over an hour to marvel at this spectacular natural wonder. The river here reaches depths of more than 250 meters, while towering cliffs over 1,000 meters high rise dramatically around us as we pass through the gorge.We’ll then continue to SAN CRISTOBAL DE LAS CASAS. The rest of the afternoon will be free to explore this enchanting city in CHIAPAS, celebrated as one of Mexico’s most beautiful colonial cities. Here, most of the population is of pre-Columbian descent, preserving traditional crafts, language, and culture.

Day 4 San Cristóbal de las Casas

After breakfast, we’ll set off with a local tour operator to explore the indigenous communities around SAN CRISTOBAL DE LAS CASAS. Our first stop will be SAN JUAN CHAMULA, home to the unique Church of San Juan, located in the center of the plaza where locals trade their agricultural products and livestock. Here, a local guide from the community will introduce us to the distinctive customs and traditions deeply rooted in this area.Next, we’ll head to SAN LORENZO ZINACANTAN, where we’ll visit the workshop of a family of artisans. We’ll have the opportunity to observe their traditional waist loom weaving techniques, as well as learn more about their culture and customs.Afterward, we’ll take a city tour of SAN CRISTOBAL DE LAS CASAS, including visits to the Temple of Santo Domingo, the Church of La Caridad, the Artisan Market, the Jade Museum, and the Amber Museum. There will also be time for shopping and lunch.

Day 5 San Cristóbal de las Casas

Today, we’ll embark on an 8-hour excursion with a local tour operator. From SAN CRISTOBAL DE LAS CASAS, we’ll visit Las Grutas del Mamut, named due to its rock formation resembling a prehistoric mammoth. This massive cave is filled with impressive rock formations that captivate visitors.We’ll then continue to El Arcotete Ecotourism Park, a scenic site surrounded by lush, varied vegetation and abundant wildlife. Here, a striking natural stone archway, shaped over thousands of years by the flow of the Fogótico River, awaits us. This unique formation combines elements of a natural arch and caves, with numerous caverns, rock formations, and stalactites to explore.Our final stop will be the Rancho Nuevo Ecotourism Park, home to a cave stretching 10.2 kilometers in length and reaching depths of up to 550 meters. An illuminated pathway extends 750 meters into the cave, allowing us to admire the fascinating shapes formed by stalactites and stalagmites over time. This geological marvel is nestled in a conifer forest, where you can also enjoy horseback riding, camping, hiking, and spelunking activities.We’ll return to SAN CRISTOBAL DE LAS CASAS where you’ll have free time.

Day 6 Agua Azul & Misol-Há & Palenque & San Cristóbal de las Casas

A stage of beautiful mountain landscapes in the heart of <strong data-start="204" data-end="215">CHIAPAS, passing through areas inhabited by communities that have preserved their Mayan language and traditions. After crossing the Ocosingo region, we’ll continue to Agua Azul (entrance to the National Park included).<br data-start="440" data-end="443">Lunch included and free time to walk or swim among more than 50 waterfalls, ranging from 3 to 30 meters in height.We’ll then continue to MISOL HA, an impressive waterfall where you can walk along the path behind the cascade.<br data-start="699" data-end="702">Our journey continues to PALENQUE, where dinner and accommodation are included.Note: In the Ocosingo region, occasional road closures may occur due to local social tensions.

Day 7 Campeche & Palenque

We’ll visit the <strong data-start="153" data-end="199" style="">impressive archaeological site of PALENQUE, an ancient Mayan city surrounded by jungle. Entrance and guided tour included to explore its temples, pyramids, and ball court.After the visit, we’ll travel toward the GULF OF MEXICO through the state of TABASCO.<br data-start="437" data-end="440">We’ll arrive in CAMPECHE, a Mexican port city known for its colonial architecture and 17th-century fortifications built to defend against pirate attacks. <strong data-start="616" data-end="636" style="">Dinner included.

Day 8 Campeche & Mérida

We’ll head toward the state of Yucatán, and after just over two hours, we’ll arrive in Mérida. We’ll enjoy a guided tour of this vibrant capital, rich in both colonial and Maya heritage. Highlights include the fortified Cathedral of Mérida, the limestone Church of the Third Order, and the House of Montejo—a 16th-century mansion and a symbol of Plateresque colonial architecture. You’ll have the afternoon free; we suggest visiting the Museum of the Maya World on your own. In the evening, a transfer to the Zócalo will be included, where you can enjoy dinner and soak up the local atmosphere.

Day 9 Chichén Itzá & Izamal & Mérida & Rio Lagartos

Today we enjoy a beautiful stage to see the Yucatán state. IZAMAL, one of the prettiest cities in Mexico, declared a "Magic town". In CHICHEN ITZAN, we include admission and a visit to the most important and renowned vestige of the Mayan civilization, a World Heritage Site where we see the mythical pyramid of Kukulcán and the warriors´ temple. After the visit we include a Mayan cuisine lunch. We continue to RIO LAGARTOS, a small fishing village in the middle of a Biosphere Reserve.

Day 10 Cancun & Cenote Choj Ha & Rio Lagartos

Today we enjoyed an exciting day where nature is featured. In the morning we include a boat ride of over two hours. We enter the biosphere reserve, where we can see crocodiles among its mangroves, lots of birds including pelicans and pink flamingos. You can also "live the mud experience" by smearing mud with high concentrations of sulfur, minerals and salts that act as exfoliants for the skin, leaving a feeling of softness throughout the body. After that, we travel to VALLADOLID, the third largest city of the Yucatan with a very nice historic city center. We recommend you to have lunch in one of the restaurants of the main square. In the afternoon we visit the CENOTE CHOJ HA, managed by the local Mayan community, where we will walk along a short path in the jungle to explore its dry cave and where you can swim in the wonderful lake inside the wet cave. Continuation to CANCUN. Arrival at the end of the afternoon.

Day 11 Cancun

Our services end after breakfast. We suggest that any travellers who wish to extend their stay for a few days can do so resting by the beautiful beaches of Cancun or the Riviera Maya.
